How has the world you come from shaped your dreams and aspirations? My dream and aspiration for the future is to make an impact on the youth of America. I feel that the future of our great country does not lie on a battlefield, but in the classrooms across our nation. Growing up I did not have a very safe or supportive environment as many young people do not, and the odds were against me. Luckily, I was taught to constantly seek better means and to above all else, NEVER be a victim. I have come to learn that no matter what financial, intellectual, or physical limitations you might possess, you ultimately have control over how they affect your life. I am thankful every day for where I came from, and those values I was taught at an early age. Currently there are scores of children out there who have unprecedented potential, that have no knowledge or means on how to express it. We can make an impact on their lives!

Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss Auburn Pageant? I have chosen to succeed in the Miss Auburn Pageant because there is not another program in the world that can touch the grace, sense of community, sense of self, and importance of education that this program encourages. The Miss Auburn Pageant gives young women the opportunity to voice their concerns, and raise awareness to societal issues that they might not otherwise have the ability to. The benefits of self esteem, diplomacy, etiquette, health consciousness, and poise that come from working alongside the wonderful people in this program are incomparable.

What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why? I believe that our declining health as a nation will have the greatest impact on our generation. Since cardiovascular disease and cancers are still the number one killers of Americans, more needs to be done to prevent these serious health concerns. With regard to the over processed and strategically marketed food we eat that lacks nutrition, to the rising costs of healthy whole and organic foods, there is a looming crisis in how we feed our bodies. We all need to take any and all steps within our control to curb this epidemic of health concerns that is related to how we maintain our lifestyles!
