How has the world you come from shaped your dreams and aspirations? Growing up, my parents have always stressed how incredibly important it is to work hard for what you want and to be independent. When I was fourteen, I got my first job during the summer at the Christian school I was attending to pay off my tuition. My job was to pull weeds for 40 hours a week. It was extremely laborious, but I learned so much about myself. Ever since then, I've always been employed and I believe it has made me into the mature, independent woman I am today. I know now that if I work hard, I can do anything I set my mind to.

Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss Auburn Pageant? I think there are countless reasons why I chose to succeed in the Miss America Pageant, but there's one reason in particular that I feel passionately about. I think it is so important for people my age to have a voice and to stand up for what you believe in, even if it means people might disagree with what you have to say. This organization gives me the chance to not only get my platform out there and raise awareness for animal cruelty, but to possibly be an example to others. I would love to see more people in my community getting involved and making a difference with something they feel passionate about.

What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why? I believe that the food we consume will definitely make a huge impact on my generation and the generations to come. So much of what we eat today is full of things that are terrible for our body and I believe that it all causes a huge portion of the health issues we presently have. What many people don't realize is that it isn't just the foods that seem obvious to be bad for our health. A majority of the food we consider to be “all natural,” such as meats and produce, have harmful chemicals and pesticides in them. I think that we all need to be educated and aware of we put in our bodies and it will help all of us in the long run.
