How has the world you come from shaped your dreams and aspirations? I come from a very loving and pushy family who always worked for the school district so I knew no matter what I did if I so much as got a C it would get home before I did. I had the struggle of dealing with my mom getting leukemia and my grandma getting pancreatic cancer when I was in fifth grade. This made my entire family have to go to grief works because my mom was extremely sick and my grandma was fatally Ill. In seventh grade when my mom lived in Seattle for a year due to her stem cell transplant I realized I want to be a social worker because so many of them helped my family through their struggles and grief.

Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss Auburn Pageant? I have chosen to succeed in the Miss Auburn Organization because I feel that the women in this organization are what I strive to be. I really want to be more poised and more confident because these are qualities that make an amazing leader. I have seen people who have competed in Miss Auburn who have come out as more confident and poised. I know from being a past contestant in Miss Auburn it will be a life changing experience and I want to be able to be a role model for young girls in the Auburn area.

What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why? I feel even though I don’t drink them, a big social issue that will affect my generation is energy drink addiction because most teens drink energy drinks. They do so because their friends do and my generation is more a generation that rushes through life no matter what the cost is. My generation tends to put to much caffeine in their bodies. Research has shown energy drinks are one of the leading causes of underage deaths is caused by energy drinks because a lot of ingredients like ginseng lowering and raising blood pressure. In the last year energy drinks have been greatly questioned because of miss labeling I found an article on fox news stating that energy drinks are miss labeled and harming people. In a 2007 survey conducted over half the people surveyed said the consumed energy drinks 253 were surveyed this was in an article by the nutrition journal. As well as in 2009 a survey was conducted with 14 million teens and 31% consumed energy drinks this was found in an article on food insight. These facts show how much energy drinks effect lives.
