How has the world you come from shaped your dreams and aspirations? When I was younger, I was a lot less adorable than some might consider me today. Weighing about forty five pounds more, and lacking a general understanding of how to deal with facial hair; my early teen and childhood years would definitely not be considered my prime. The extensive cruelty and judgment lashed out to me by my peers, led me to transfer to seven schools by the time I had reached seventh grade. In elementary school I was even trapped in a recess bathroom for two hours, by girls who didn't think I was "cool". I wouldn't even consider this to be the worst incident I experienced. Bullying strongly effected my life as a child, and the way I was treated will stay with me forever. Bullying was a hard challenge, but with the help of my mom I was able to rise above it. She's the most loving and forgiving person I have ever known. Despite what everyone told me, and regardless of how others treated me, my mom was always there. She taught me the importance being myself, and that I could achieve anything I worked for. I might not seem extremely accomplished, but my mom and I know that I have overcome more than enough to have high hopes for the future.

Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss Auburn Pageant? One of the biggest honors of a title holder, is being a role model to younger girls. Having a crown and sash shows a great deal of accomplishment, and with it I could inspire any girl to achieve her dreams. Being a Miss marks you as elegant, caring, and ambitious, characteristics that all ladies should aspire. As a contestant in the Miss America Pageant, I honestly could not see any greater success than being idolized by younger girls.

What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why? A social issue that has worsened over time, and has greatly affected be, is bullying. Bullying comes in all shapes and sizes, but hurts all the same. Children start bullying as young as elementary school, and can sometimes be more ruthless than high schoolers. Its hard to succeed and appreciate yourself when someone is constantly breaking you down. School shootings and suicides are often the result of peer torture and isolation. Bullys have been around for years, and are even advancing, with the introduction of Instant messaging, Facebook, and the internet in general, kids are publicly attached through cyber bullying. Even though many schools and independent organizations try their hardest to prevent such a problem, bullying has continued to be a constant obstacle for thousands. Its a reoccurring problem in our country, and I just want to see it end.
